A scooter company called “Bird” plans to promote its electric scooter rental service to the citizens of Albuquerque. Renting one sounds like a lot of fun considering you can use an online app to “unlock” the scooter from a charging station anytime you like.
However, the City of Albuquerque does not have any traffic laws to regulate the scooters. The City is also planning to require companies such as Bird to obtain a license and purchase insurance to protect its customers.
So, if you will be riding an electric scooter in the future, be careful.
